Rebuilt Arizona Room, New Patio/Back Roof in Casa Grande

By Casa Grande, Patio Replacement, Roofing, Shingle Roof, UncategorizedNo Comments

From Leaky Roof to Brand New Roof

This customer in Casa Grande, Arizona had an Arizona room in the rear of their house that had been pretty much unusable for the last few years.  The wood used was the wrong thickness, and due to a poorly installed flat roof, it leaked in a dozen locations.  The homeowners wanted to enjoy their Arizona room and not have to put up plastic and pans every time it rained.

This project took a bit more than a regular roof replacement.  For starters, all the wood was rotted.  They needed all new rafters, new fascia, new trim, and even new wood sheathing before the new rolled roofing could be put down.  Thankfully, our guys were up to the task.  The woodwork posed no problem to getting the project completed.  Fortunately, they called the best roofing company in Casa Grande, and we got the job done.

The Casa Grande homeowners also decided to replace the back half of their roof which, thankfully, didn’t need as much work as the rest.  The end result was great, and will surely allow them to enjoy the back half of their house for years to come.  On top of that, it’ll surely endure the intense Casa Grande rain and storms that the area is known to get.

If you need help on a flat roof, a shingle roof, or just a leaking roof, call the best roofers in Casa Grande: Castile Roofing.

Fixing a Leak on a Modular/Mobile Home Between Main Roof and Metal Roof

By Casa Grande, Shingle RoofOne Comment

In the cities of Casa Grande, Arizona City, Coolidge, and Eloy, modular/mobile homes parks are a fairly popular option for affordable housing.  Communities are built around them that give the homeowners access to a wide array of amenities, and neighbors to interact with.  It also is the basis for many senior communities.

The construction of these homes are typically all the same.  They’re typically what’s known as a “single-wide” with a main shingle roof, and then one or two metal roof awnings off to the sides.  Many homeowners opt to build another room underneath one of these.

The most common problem with all of these homes is that the transition between the two roofs is never as watertight as it should be.  From the manufacturer, these transitions will end up not leaking water for all of 10 years (sometimes less!) before they spring a large leak.  If you’ve experienced this, then you know the pain of calling roofing contractor after roofing contractor and getting various answers on how to fix the leaking.  Many roofers are quick to quote replacement of the entire roof without thinking about the fact that the issue is the transition and not the main roof.

At Castile Roofing, we’ve dealt with dozens of these leaks on mobile homes between a main roof and a metal side roof, and have just the solution you need.  The solution is fairly simple — with a product known as roll flashing, you can connect the two roofs to one another and provide a proper exit for water from the main roof to the side roof.  The process on most homes in Casa Grande involves lifting the main roof, and then installing the roll flashing 6″ on to the main roof, and 6″ over the smaller roof.  It’s very important to ensure that there’s a downward slope so that water exits correctly.  The flashing is then sealed, and the main roof put back down over it.  If you look at the picture below, you’ll see how ingenious this solution is!

Properly connecting a main roof to a side metal roof

Now, in the future when the homeowner experiences heavy rains, the water will run from the main roof, to the roll flashing, to the metal roof, and off the property for good.  Castile Roofing is the only choice for leaking roof repairs in Phoenix, Coolidge, Casa Grande, Maricopa, and Arizona City.

How a Gray Shingle Roof and Fascia Can Accentuate the Arizona Desert

By Shingle Roof, Arizona City, FasciaNo Comments

The majority of houses out in the deserts of Casa Grande, Maricopa, Arizona City, and even Phoenix, all tend to run with the same color scheme due to us being in the Arizona desert.  The same shades of brown, red, and tan are seen everywhere.

When the option presents itself though, a gray shingle roof can truly make your house unique amongst this color scheme.  On this house, we installed Malarkey Highlander NEX Storm Gray shingles which are a multitude of gray, light gray, and dark gray scattered throughout.  To truly complement the roof, we also installed a new 2-layer rolled roofing system on the patio in gray, and installed all new gray fascia and trim around the house.

The result is one of the most unique houses you’ll find in Arizona City.  Just because you’re in the desert, doesn’t mean your house has to look like the desert!  This Arizona City shingle roof is going to last decades, and is going to maintain this clean, crisp look the entire time.

New Wood Shingle Roof Makes This House Pop in Maricopa

While this shingle roof replacement was relatively straightforward, the results were far better than anyone anticipated.  When it comes to Maricopa, we only recommend Malarkey Highlander NEX shingles for their resilience, and strength in strong winds and rain.  The customer chose the Antique Brown color, and we were off to the races.

When it comes to shingle roofs in all Arizona cities, a brown color is not necessarily unique.  The depth, however, of these architectural shingles give it a very unique texture and make the roof look more decorative than necessary.  The right color can really take an average house, and turn it into a head-turner.

The last step the customer is taking is to re-paint their side metal roofs into a matching reddish-brown color to complete this stunning look.

This shingle roof replacement in Maricopa could not have come out better, and is now the one to admire in the neighborhood.

Another satisfied customer, and more images to add to our portfolio.  Because Castile Roofing takes pride in every roof we repair and replace!

From an Old 2-Layer Shingle Roof to a New, Shiny Shingle Roof

From Old to New: Shingle Roofs

This was a very unique job in that the customer had 2-layers of shingles that had been sitting there for near 30 years.  The roof was original with the house, meaning the shingles had decades to sit and bake in the sun.  The demolition alone took our crew days upon days, but we got the job done.

This Casa Grande shingle roof came out looking extremely nice, and the color chosen by the customer really accentuates the rest of the house.  Due to the second layer and the multitude of nails in the roof, 50% of the underlying wood sheathing had to be replaced as well.  Regardless, the solution that our experienced roofing contractors came up with kept this roof within the margins the customer was expecting, and got him a roof that is sure to last another 30 years.

Castile Roofing makes the difference when problems happen

By Repairs, Consultation, Maintenance, RoofingNo Comments

Despite being a desert, rain can be devastating to a roof. The cost of repairs only gets worse the longer the problem(s) occurs. However, most companies may not be able to fully restore damage done after a downpour. That’s the difference made with Castile Roofing.

The Castile Difference is:

The Cost Difference

The cost is the ‘meat and potatoes’ of ANY repair or maintenance job. It is also the toughest subject to speak of when dealing with repair and maintenance. Most companies will offer vague numbers and timetables to completion. Castile lets their customers know up front the cost and scope of the repair/maintenance will be BEFORE signing any paperwork. We also will inform our customer of any changes in cost and scope prior to taking them or if the customer has a change in mind. We want to make the consultation to our company as open as possible. This level of transparency is vital to keep our customers satisfied, and we have known this for the past decade.

The Differing Situations Handled

See the difference with Castile Roofing! As stated from the beginning, we handle any situation. A commercial business with a tile roof? We can handle that. A family of ten that uses their shingle roof for night-time stargazing? We can handle that too. Need maintenance work done in a timely manner without putting a new hole in your wallet? No promises, but we’ll work with you to make it a reality. In an ever changing environment, even a desert, it is important to get a roofing company equally flexible and knowledgeable.
